There are well over 100 known cannabinoids which make up the the genetic structure of the hemp and cannabis plants that we are aware of today. The most well known are CBD & THC. This article is going to focus on another one of the cannabinoids called Cannabigerol (CBG).

There are very small amounts of CBG in the hemp plant. Actually, THC and CBD both start out as CBG. After a short period of time the CBG develops into one or the other.

Why are people interested in CBG?

Aside from the standard CBD benefits including inflammation, appetite suppressant, and a plethora of other functions to rebalance homeostasis, CBG is powerful for reducing intraocular pressure; meaning it can ease Glaucoma.

Secondly, many people are looking to CBG to help lower blood pressure. Cannabigerol is a natural vasodilator; meaning it will help blood flow easier and more smoothly.

CBG also shows promise in fighting cancer.

Hemp farmers and biochemists are now breeding strains of hemp with higher concentrations of CBG in order to study its benefits and increase its availability.
